Modbus Pickford EIE
The Modbus Pickford EIE is a Modbus-derived EIE that works with TPG700 field devices to read Dynagraph data. The EIE contains all standard Modbus functionality plus additional special handling for DynaCard. Modbus RTU, TCP, and ASCII protocols are supported. The protocol selection is a property of the remote device. The Pickford field devices use Modbus for communications. Like most CygNet EIEs, the Modbus Pickford EIE is a template-driven EIE.
The Modbus Pickford EIE provides the following special handling for DynaCards:
- retrieval of the variable and dynamic number of load position points that the TPG700 devices use on their DynaCards
- a mechanism for discerning one card from another in the card buffer, which are stored in the buffer from oldest to newest with no indication of where one card ends and the next begins
-
correctly read start up and shutdown buffer cards.
The Dynagraph Card data group is used to view card details, like configurable stroke information and load/position pairs, which are used to construct a card plot.
The StrkLenMan data group is an update-only data group (data does not come from or go to device) that allows you to specify stroke length manually. This data group saves the stroke length within CygNet without needing to write to the device.
